COMPRESSPORT QUAD for decreased muscle fatigue and quicker recovery

The intense effort with COMPRESSPORT - Selective compression on the area of the quadriceps gives you a feeling of lightness kilometre after kilometre. You push away the feeling of fatigue and heaviness and recover during your effort.

Wear your "Compresport Quad” incognito (like a leg warmer) under your cycling short or your running shorts

COMPRESSPORT anti-sensitive muscle - the Techno-COMPRESSPORT fiber helps reduce the shock waves on hard ground. It helps to reduce significantly the oscillatory movement of the muscles (muscle fibers), pushing the limits and muscle fatigue, therefore, the risk of injury (cycling and running)

Recovery - After sport COMPRESSPORT accompanies you throughout your recovery so you can regain light feeling legs, ready for another training session. READ MORE

COMPRESSPORT R2 “Race & recovery” great compression for running.

During effort, COMPRESSPORT reduces lactic acid and shocks. This protects you from muscular fatigue and damage. After training or racing COMPRESSPORT speeds up recovery and leaves you feeling great.

Intense effort with COMPRESSPORT - Its compression actions reduce greatly the accumulation of toxins round the leg area, especially when the effort is prolonged. The sheathing calf allows a more efficient venous feedback from feet to the heart and a better oxygenation thus facilitating muscle recovery during exercise.

Muscular-tear prevention - The COMPRESSPORT fibre is designed to reduce shock waves generated by running on hard ground. It therefore significantly reduces the oscillating movement of the muscles (muscle fibres), slowing down muscle fatigue thereby limiting risks of injury.

Recovery - After sport COMPRESSPORT accompanies you throughout your recovery so you can regain light feeling legs, ready for another training session READ MORE

NEW FROM SLS3 Compression Socks

Scientific tests have shown that the SLS3 Compression Sport Sox boost bloodflow about 34%. This increases oxygen delivery to the working muscles to enhance their performance. The circulation improvements also help the body to eliminate metabolic wastes like lactic acid. The combination of these effects allows you to work harder and longer.
The SLS3 Compression Sox also offer significant support to the Achilles tendon, tibia, calf and ankle. This boosts the ability to reduce common ankle and foot injuries.
The supportive effect and the compression of the SLS3 Compression Sox reduce the muscle vibration drastically, which leads to less damage of the soft tissue and less sore muscles.
The SLS3 Compression Sport Sox with RC - COMP Technology™ guarantee immediate success for athletes who pursue maximum performance, endurance and recovery. Through its high developed graduated compression, the innovative technology maximizes the blood circulation in the muscles. This will improve your performance in training, competition and recovery.

How SLS3 Compression Sport Sox work:

Imagine this: Your leg is a two lane highway with little to medium traffic at rest. Now you're racing or training hard which equals rush hour. The result: traffic jams, delays in arrival and return. Major lactate acid build up resembles new construction sites....it will only get worse from here.

The SLS3 Compression Sox mean a widening of your two lane highway into a four lane freeway. Workloads of high intensity training, long durations and racing are now able to move without being held up. Traffic aka oxygenated blood gets all the way into the foot, lactate acid can be transported out at the same time without major delays.

As a result, you will be able to work longer, harder, faster and get back to it earlier!

SLS3 Compression - How much?
Compression is measured in mmHg. This stands for millimetres (mm) of mercury (Hg) and is the average measurement of compression firmness at the ankle.
There are different levels of compression possible.

8-15mmHg offers a very, very mild compression.
It's preventative and helps with minor fatigue and cramps.

15-20mmHg offers firmer compression.
It helps with mild foot and leg swelling, tired and achy legs, and prevents several mild varicose problems.

20-30mmHg is where SLS3 comes in.
SLS3 Compression Sox average around 24-26mmHg.  This is considered firm compression that helps with severe swelling, reversible  lymphoedema,  moderate to severe fatigue and cramps, and severe vein insufficiency.

Above this there is yet more compression to be had BUT it is for medical indication such as irreversible lymphoedema and elephantiasis.

SLS3 Compression Sox - Keeping It Cool!
The special material used for the SLS3 Compression Sport Sox is designed to keep you cool when wet due to sweat or extra water applied on the Sox. The cooling effect will you to keep your body temperature down ( especially in extreme hot races like Hawaii ) which results in an improvement of performance.

SLS3 Material - Safe in the Sun
Only the safest and best materials go into the making of SLS3 Compression Sox.  As a result, our sox feature a 50+ protection against those harmful UV rays

Lower limb compression garment improves recovery from exercise-induced muscle damage in young, active females.

Jakeman JR, Byrne C, Eston RG.

School of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Exeter, St. Luke's Campus, Heavitree Road, Exeter, Devon, EX1 2LU, UK, J.R.Jakeman@ex.ac.uk.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of lower limb compression as a recovery strategy following exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD). Seventeen female volunteers completed 10 x 10 plyometric drop jumps from a 0.6-m box to induce muscle damage. Participants were randomly allocated to a passive recovery (n = 9) or a compression treatment (n = 8) group. Treatment group volunteers wore full leg compression stockings for 12 h immediately following damaging exercise. Passive recovery group participants had no intervention. Indirect indices of muscle damage (muscle soreness, creatine kinase activity, knee extensor concentric strength, and vertical jump performance) were assessed prior to and 1, 24, 48, 72, and 96 h following plyometric exercise. Plyometric exercise had a significant effect (p </= 0.05) on all indices of muscle damage. The compression treatment reduced decrements in countermovement jump performance (passive recovery 88.1 +/- 2.8% vs. treatment 95.2 +/- 2.9% of pre-exercise), squat jump performance (82.3 +/- 1.9% vs. 94.5 +/- 2%), and knee extensor strength loss (81.6 +/- 3% vs. 93 +/- 3.2%), and reduced muscle soreness (4.0 +/- 0.23 vs. 2.4 +/- 0.24), but had no significant effect on creatine kinase activity. The results indicate that compression clothing is an effective recovery strategy following exercise-induced muscle damage.

The effects of compression garments on recovery of muscle performance following high-intensity sprint and plyometric exercise.

Duffield R, Cannon J, King M.

School of Human Movement Studies, Charles Sturt University, Australia. rduffield@csu.edu.au

Abstract

This study compared the effects of compression garments on recovery of evoked and voluntary performance following fatiguing exercise. Eleven participants performed 2 sessions separated by 7 days, with and without lower-body compression garments during and 24h post-exercise. Participants performed a 10-min exercise protocol of a 20-m sprint and 10 plyometric bounds every minute. Before, following, 2h and 24h post-exercise, evoked twitch properties of the knee extensors, peak concentric knee extension and flexion force were assessed, with blood samples drawn to measure lactate [La(-)], pH, creatine kinase (CK), aspartate transaminase (AST) and c-reactive protein (C-RP). Heart rate, exertion (RPE) and muscle soreness (MS) measures were obtained pre- and post-exercise. No differences (P=0.50-0.80) and small effect sizes (d<0.3) were present for 20-m sprint (3.59+/-0.22 vs. 3.59+/-0.18s) or bounding performance (17.13+/-1.4 vs. 17.21+/-1.7 m) in garment and control conditions. The decline and recovery in concentric force were not different (P=0.40) between conditions. Full recovery of voluntary performance was observed 2h post-exercise, however, evoked twitch properties remained suppressed 2h post-exercise in both conditions. No differences (P=0.40-0.80, d<0.3) were present between conditions for heart rate, RPE, [La(-)], pH, CK or C-RP. However, 24h post-exercise a smaller change (P=0.08; d=2.5) in AST (23.1+/-3.1 vs. 26.0+/-4.0) and reduced (P=0.01; d=1.1) MS (2.8+/-1.2 vs. 4.5+/-1.4) were present in the garments. In conclusion the effects of compression garments on voluntary performance and recovery were minimal; however, reduced levels of perceived MS were reported following recovery in the garments.   Compression Tights and Compression Shirts

Compression Tights and Compression Shirts
By Sarah Janeepa Hardeep

Compression tights have been used commonly these days by many successful sports men and women. As we know, in sport the smallest amount of times and the smaller amount of inches make all the difference. Therefore optimum performance is absolutely essential in most sports. Compression tights are used in basketball to cycling, from weight lifting to running.

They are there for a number of reasons. They are actually leggings, yes, men's leggings designed to fit snugly around the body. They must fit very nicely around the body of the player of sports person for maximum comfort. Obviously not having maximum comfort can alter the performance of the star. So comfort is the fore most important subject in wearing and type of sportswear. They are purely designed to keep the body at the perfect temperature. Especially when sports are played outside often the muscles and retract and get cold, leaving them very vulnerable to being pulled or strained, sweat in sport is actually good for you because it shows that all your muscles are at a good temperature where they are able to stretch. They a healthy flow of blood throughout the whole body (not just the bottom half as many people say). They help sweat to be released from the body rather than holding it in. The material in which these are made, are actually very light and thin.

They are made from special material that allows the sports person to stretch and the material to stretch, but it is that thin that the lightness of the garment, in no way, restricts the sports person from optimum performance. This is essential for the sports person, if wearing them makes you feel uncomfortable or restricts your movement then I wouldn't personally suggest using them; unless they are mandatory in your field of sport. Many different designers and brands make the compression tights and there price can range from anything like £15 to almost £50. In the ones which I have used I have no found there to be a substantial difference in the different types of compression tights, just like there is no difference in any Great and Cheap Compression shirt They generally all use the same material and the weight doesn't vary too much. Because of the nature of them they fit all and you shouldn't have to worry to much about what sizes will fit you.

Runner Gratitude - Compression Tights

Runner Gratitude - Compression Tights
By Dr. Kirk Mahoney

An attitude of gratitude can make all the difference in what you attract into your life as a runner. The Law of Attraction says that we tend to get more of that for which we regularly have thoughts and feelings of gratitude.

You can apply the Law of Attraction to your running life by often considering every single person, place, thing, and experience for which you are in any way grateful.

Even better: These thoughts and feelings of gratitude will tend to give you the habit of an attitude of gratitude in other areas of your life, and this habit will make other parts of your life more enjoyable and rewarding, too. As many wise people like to say, true wealth means fully appreciating everything that one has in one's life.

So, if you wear compression tights during any or all of your runs, then consider these thoughts of gratitude related to them:

  • I am truly grateful that I could afford my compression tights.
  • I love the way that my tights hug my legs and make me feel more confident in my running.
  • I am thankful that athletes, biomechanics, kinesiologists, and fabric scientists collaborated to research and develop the compression tights that I now wear during my runs.
  • I am amazed at and grateful for the way that my tights are constructed such that there are panels that compress in all the right places and at all the right intensities.
  • I am thankful for the people and machines who sewed my compression tights so that they stay together and last for run after run.
  • I love the way that I can cold-water wash my tights -- and save money by not using hot water.
  • I am thankful for the way that my tights will air-dry in an hour or two.
  • I am truly grateful for the way that my tights wick perspiration away from my skin all over my hips and legs.
  • A feeling of gratitude comes over me when I take time to appreciate how my compression tights keep my legs warm on cold-morning runs.
  • I am grateful that I can keep my hip and leg muscles warm -- but not too warm! -- by wearing my tights on hot days.
  • I look forward to taking the time to carefully put on my compression tights before a long run.
  • I feel grateful after a long run when I peel off my tights and notice that my leg muscles are not sore.
The most powerful thoughts of gratitude are the most personal. Take this list as a starting point, and personalize it to your thoughts and feelings about your tights.

What are Compression Tights?

What are Compression Tights?

Author: Joseph Magliaro

We have come a long way from the swift suit! Compression clothing is the latest revelation. Compression clothing moulds are made of specially designed fabrics that shape the body and have a number of other benefits. Many athletes and sportsmen will vouch for compression tights and other compression clothing.

Compression running tights are meant to provide optimum support to all the muscles in the body, which reduces the chances of muscle injury. They also help with blood circulation and in turn the oxygen flow to the lower body muscles. Better circulation reduces the chance of varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis and other lower body ailments. Compression running tights are extra supportive and aid athlete performance. A study conducted by French researchers found that compression tights are easier on athletes. The amount of energy expended in compression tights is much less than any other sporting gear.

There are special bands on the compression tights that are made of strong fabric that aid muscle motion for bikers and help with longer strides for runners. Compression tights reduce muscle fatigue. Another benefit of compression clothing is that it controls moisture and sweat from the body. Other studies that have been conducted showed that compression tights reduce muscle soreness as well. The fabric that is used to make compression tights is UV resistant and protects the skin from the harmful effects of the sun. It also helps with the removal of lactic acid. Other than compression tights, you will also find upper body clothing that helps with posture and keeping the body warm. Compression technology clothing is extremely durable and long lasting.

Compression tights optimise body temperature in extreme climatic conditions. They help make the muscles more powerful and reduce muscle vibration. Compression tights are safer to wear as they discourage the growth of bacteria and prevent body odour.

Choosing the right gear is very important for any sport. If you are an athlete interested in biking or a triathlon, consider Fusion for cycling apparel and triathlon suits. Fusion has clothing for both men and women. You can also find clothes to help you in the gymnasium or while you’re out running. Visit the www.fusionsportsuk.co.uk website for more information on compression tights.
